Recently Paul Clarke, Craig Freeman, Carl Gardyne (Franchisee’s) and myself Damian Curtain (franchisor) attended the 2011 Australian Carwash Association Conference and Expo on the Gold Coast, overall the visit was well worthwhile bringing back new efficiencies and products for our car washes back here in New Zealand.
The Espresso Carwash team meet Ian Healy
While at the conference we meet Ian Healy (ex Aussie cricket legend) and Chris Johns (ex Aussie rugby league legend) who are the owners of Hoppys Hand Car Wash in Brisbane with three very impressive sites with one particular site capable of washing over 600 cars per day, Ian was kind enough to take the time out of his day and take us for a guided tour around their sites in which we can’t thank Ian enough.
Who are the Australian Carwash Association?
The Australian Car Wash Association (ACWA) is the peak representative body for car wash owners and suppliers to the industry. It enables strong industry representation to Government and Regulatory Authorities as well as providing best practice guide lines for the industry.
The Australian Car Wash Association is a valuable business partner providing management, industry and operational knowledge for current and potential car wash owners and operators who seek to improve the success of their business. It provides a forum for suppliers and operators to meet with each other and for suppliers to promote their products and services to the owners and operators, both large and small.
The Australian Car Wash Association strives to build positive public awareness that supports the viability of commercial car washes. It promotes the industry as a whole, and each individual car wash enterprise, as a valuable and environmentally sustainable service to the community.
